Jack Cork felt Burnley let themselves down

After the disappointment of the 5-1 FA Cup exit at Premier League West Ham on Saturday, Cork felt Burnley let themselves down at the Boleyn Ground, given an impressive showing in the first half.

Cork said: “We felt like we played really well in the first half so it was very disappointing in the second half. The three early goals killed us and everyone came in really disappointed because after that we played really poorly. There were no excuses really.”

But Jack Cork urged the Clarets to focus on the bigger picture and keep working towards an immediate Premier League return, starting with completing a Lancashire double over their bottom placed rivals.

“We know we have to work fast as the time in the transfer window is ticking away and that was a big factor in our decision.

“Dougie knows the players and knows what we need to add.”
